This year as part if YST’s expansion we are offering to come to visit you in your own church to teach a course to a whole group. We piloted this idea during the 06/07 year with the University of York Christian Union and Global church and following their success are expanding further.
Currently we are offering two of our courses in this way.

1. The Bible in 6 Weeks
We all know about Adam and Eve, Noah, Moses, David and Goliath,
Daniel and those lions, Jesus’ death and resurrection, and Paul’s journeys,
but how do they all fit together and make sense as a whole? This course gives an overview of this amazing collection of books.
1. The life of Jesus - the Gospels
2. The Acts of the Apostles and their Letters
3. The Books of the Law: Genesis to Deuteronomy
4. Under the Judges and the first kings: Joshua - 2 Samuel and the Wisdom Literature
5. Kings and More Kings: 1 Kings - 2 Chronicles and the Prophets
6. Exile and Return: Ezra - Esther and the Later Prophets
2. Equipping God’s People – Children and Young PeopleLearning to Work with Children and Young People
This course has been written and collated by members of the York Diocese Children’s and Young People’s Work Advisory Team. It is designed to give encouragement, confidence and basic skills to anyone working with children or young people within a church context.
Session 1 Children and Church – reflecting on the place children have in our church.Session 2 The World of Children and Young People – an introduction to child development in the context of the faith journey.Session 3 Leading and Learning – reflecting on ourselves as leaders, and understanding different learning styles.Session 4 Safeguarding – reflecting on our ‘Duty of Care’, considering practical aspects of safeguarding, including risk assessments, health and safety and child protection.
